Theory Therapy 60: Felisha Ledesma

Pensive melodies from Malmö.

"I needed to make something to reset, something for the new year." - Felisha Ledesma.

Hey Felisha. How are you today? How’s the weather in Malmö?

Hii! I am doing alright. The sun came out for a bit today, and I was able to bask in it for a few minutes.

What was the last song you listened to?

Mordecoli - I (Château Mordécoly)

Is there an artist you listen to a lot we might not expect based on your music and mixes?

I have gotten into a nice flow making mixes the way I do. In a lot of ways making radio shows / mixes is an extension of my artistic practice, but it doesn’t come close to encompassing everything I listen to. Lately I have been listening to a lot of CCR and Stevie Wonder. Funnily enough my dad was in a Creedence cover band.

Do you have a favourite place to listen to music?

Late night on the train, on the couch with coffee, surrounded by people in a warehouse.

Outside of music, what helps you get into a creative mindset?

Small every day things really. Long walks, catching up with loved ones, the jokes/secrets I have with myself, being near the water, etc etc.

Can you tell us a little about your Theory Therapy mix? What were you feeling when you made it? Where did you record it?

I needed to make something to reset, something for the new year. I put it together in my living room because I loved the view.

Where would you recommend listening to it?

Wherever you want!

Theory Therapy mixes are about sharing the music that you personally find therapeutic, cathartic or restorative. What does that mean for you?

Not to cheat this question, but all music does this for me in one way or another. It is therapeutic to be able to share sounds / ideas from artists I admire.

Is there a particular album or piece of music that you find yourself returning to for similar reasons?

Jeff Buckley & Elizabeth Fraser - ‘All Flowers In Time Bend Towards The Sun’

Tell us something exciting that's coming up in your life, music or otherwise.

I am spending the first part of the year recording/preparing for my performance at INA GRM + very much looking forward to playing & teaching at Schiev in Brussels in Feb. Any future friends in those places, please come say hi.
